We run many public courses throughout the year at the nursery including various woodland craft activities and creative art workshops. We and our teachers will post on social media the dates and times of each event throughout the year.
Our classes are either held in our central Oasis building, or in one of our working greenhouses, or in our beautiful woodland for wellness activities. Woodcarving with Allen Stichler 2024
Woodcarving with Allen will give you a great opportunity to spend 1 or 3 days carving with a local master craftsman, and take home a carving for your garden or create a unique gift.
One Day Course:

Allen uses the same traditional methods (mallet and chisel) that have been used by craftsmen for centuries. All of his work is commissioned and each piece is unique. For around ten years he has had the privilege of holding carving workshops at Mires Beck, with both the public and the Nursery’s trainees; the serene and tranquil environment is the perfect setting for working with a natural, organic material like wood, and this calming atmosphere spreads to the participants on the course ~ making it a wholly enjoyable and rewarding experience for all.
