About Us
Mires Beck has been a registered charity since 1994 (charity number: 1038078), dedicated to enriching lives through work experience and social therapeutic horticulture. Situated on a stunning 14-acre nursery and conservation site, we provide meaningful opportunities for adults living with learning difficulties, Autism, and physical disabilities. Immersed in the tranquillity of the natural environment, our service users benefit from improved physical and social skills while engaging in fulfilling activities that truly make a difference.
Over the past 30 years, we’ve grown to support approximately 100 adults each week through our thriving adult day service and commercial enterprise – and we’re still expanding. Green therapy is increasingly recognised as a valuable avenue for personal growth and well-being, and we are proud to deliver an exemplary standard of care and opportunity in this area. Our nursery has become a welcoming space for the community, offering visitors the chance to experience the beauty and purpose behind our work.
Our dedicated team of 75 staff and volunteers are the heart of Mires Beck, working tirelessly to provide the nurturing environment our service users need to achieve their full potential. Together, we deliver extraordinary care while producing an exceptional range of high-quality plants and trees, sold to both the public and the horticultural trade. This commitment to excellence has earned us recognition within the industry, helping to sustain our social enterprise and open new doors for expansion and diversity in the services we offer.
